Cut the Cost of Doing Business
Valley Coop Oil Mill strives to maximize the return to member gins for their cottonseed by marketing and processing the seed produced by its member gins, while maintaining a good relationship with the companies, employees, and community.
Joining a reliable, member-owned and operated co-op gives you control and access. VALCO pools resources to access new, more efficient equipment, and we're always looking for innovative ways to grow member distributed profits. We meet annually to discuss business and upcoming seasons.

Why Valley Co-op Oil Mill?
In 1946 Valley Co-op Oil Mill came together to solve a problem: getting grower cottonseed out of an agricultural quarantine area. Seven members pooled their resources to buy a sanitizer, and 16,999 tons of sterilized cottonseed later, they had a success on their hands.
We grew beyond our early purpose, adding more members, crushing equipment, seed storage, housing, delinting, refinery and solvent extraction, bale processing, and meal storage.
And now, over 75 years later, we continue to be a member owned organization that empowers cotton gins from the Rio Grande Valley to Upper Coast. As a Valley Co-op Oil Mill member, you can expect access to the best equipment, profit participation, greater market power for your cottonseed, and farmer-to-farmer support.

Choose a Co-op That Supports Local Communities
We're not a national co-op. We're Texas-based, supporting local communities across Southern Texas. Valley Co-op Oil Mill not only works for members, but stays involved in Harlingen. We’re a member of the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce, are active on the Harlingen Cotton Committee, and we support the annual Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo. And you'll find our members working in their communities. Co-ops grow communities.
